Welding Technology Zone

The Welding Technology Zone at AMADA’s Schaumburg Solution Center is built around a family of walnut display cases: tall slatted towers that step down in height, and shorter counter-height cases, each with a recessed niche finished in black plastic laminate for lit product display. Pio fabricated the cases in flush-overlay construction with wood-veneer slats over a laminate core, reveals painted black, and countertops carried in the same veneer so the vertical grain runs uninterrupted from the base through the tower.

The cases sit against continuous veneer wall paneling and frosted-glass openings, so each unit was dimensioned to field conditions and set plumb to the adjacent panel joints and reveal lines. Grain direction was tracked across every face on the shop drawings, with finished ends called out where cases return into the room, keeping the walnut consistent across the freestanding and wall-hung pieces.
